Pipex Licencing Options

All versions of Pipex are embedded within the download version available on this web site. The features of the developer, work group and enterprise versions are available by obtaining an unlock code for the target computer. In order to obtain any of the licences offered for sale, please run Pipex Licence Upgrade from the Program menu on the target computer. This will provide an instance code identifying the target computer. E-mail this to us, along with the payment information encrypted by the wizard. Once your payment has been processed, we will e-mail back an unlock code which will open up the features available under the purchased licence. The Pipex Licence Upgrade will guide you through the required steps in more detail.

The following versions of Pipex are available:

Evaluation version/unregistered
Contains full Pipex designer and all Pipex features. Processing is limited to 20 messages, after which the Pipex message server must be restarted. Any node names will be preceded with 'evaluation_'. This version allows you to develop and run a complete model for evaluation purposes only. No unlock code is needed to use this version.
Developer edition
Contains full Pipex designer and all Pipex features. This version allows you to design, develop and test a complete model. The Pipex message server may be run on a single development computer only. The developer edition allows a multiple node network to be tested on a single PC.
Workgroup server
Allows unlimited connections to the Pipex network from computers on a local area network. In addition, up to 5 simultaneous connections from other workgroup or enterprise servers on a WAN are permitted.
Enterprise server
Allows unlimited simultaneous connections from any computer.
Remote desktop server
Desktop PC's on a LAN do not require purchase of a Pipex server. An entire local area network can be serviced by either a workgroup or enterprise server running on a single PC or server. Typically, a LAN constitutes a single node in a Pipex network topology. The exception to this are notebook computers or stand-alone PC which operate off the LAN. Pipex remote desktop server is offered for this situation and allows only a single connection at a time.
