is a platform
that is designed to allow busy locations to run with less staff, or, low
volume and feeder locations to operate with no staff in the scale house.
The SHIP Unattended program provides a complete ticket entry and printing
function in the scale house. Tickets are sent to the office automatically
for invoicing.
A full SHIP Unattended installation consists of:
- A touch-screen display in the scale house used by your truckers to
print a ticket
- An optional display in the loader to display truck assignment information
and to enter ticket information
- An optional check-in lane to notify loader operators of truck arrivals
- An optional platform scale
| Feature |
Benefit |
| Truck assignments are setup by staff at head office
or a dispatcher at another pit |
Eliminates the need to have a dispatcher onsite |
| Notice of truck arrivals at the pit and their assignments
are sent to the loader display. |
Loader operator activities are directed in an orderly
fashion with less need for disruptive radio communications. Loader
spends less time travelling from pile to pile, minimizing wait time
for trucks in the pit. |
| Truck time indicator in the loader - Trucks waiting
for longer than a threshold time (e.g. 15 minutes) turn red on the
loader display to highlight that they've been waiting. |
Loader operator knows "at a glance" who's
been waiting, and for how long. |
| Loader display shows flat scale weight for the last
truck loaded. |
Loader operator can monitor loader scale weights against
true weigh out values. |
| Data is pre-stored at the scalehouse |
An active communications link is not required to print
a ticket |
| Uses Pipex, SSI's robust replication and queue server
technology platform |
Data only needs to be entered at the office and is
automatically replicated to all appropriate pits. Tickets are reliably
transferred to the office system for invoicing. |
The touch-screen display at the scale house allows your truckers to:
- Select a pre-configured assignment that fills in the customer, jobsite
and product on the ticket
- Select a customer, jobsite and product themselves if an assignment
has not yet been created, provided the trucker has been given permission
to do so
An optional display in the loader is used to:
- Display the current truck assignment list for the day
- Display which trucks are active in the pit
- Enter ticket information, such as weight and product, to print a ticket
for a trucker at the scale house
- View the truck weights as the ticket is printed
